Suwanee's Saturday Market Goes Winter the Same Weekend Wine Fest Arrives

Suwanee's Saturday Market Goes Winter the Same Weekend Wine Fest Arrives

Saturday, October 31, is the last Suwanee Farmers Market of the summer season. The summer market has run every Saturday from May through October, 8 a.m. to noon, at Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park. The next Saturday, November 7, the Winter Farmers Market opens at the same address with a two-hour window. An hour after it closes, the 13th annual Suwanee Wine Fest opens its gates across town in Town Center Park.

For the next six months, a Saturday downtown depends on the calendar. Some weeks the market sets up. Some weeks a 5K or a festival fills the morning. Some weeks have both. That first weekend of November shows the winter pattern clearly, because it puts something on each of Suwanee's two downtown parks on both days.

Four hours every week becomes two hours every other week

The city lists the Winter Farmers Market as an open-air market running twice monthly, 9 to 11 a.m., from November through April. The table below sets the two seasons side by side.

The winter market opens an hour later and closes an hour earlier, and it skips every other week. The city's current listings put the first three winter markets on November 7, November 21 and December 5. The stalls change with the season too. The city points to winter produce like lettuces, greens, potatoes, carrots and Brussels sprouts, along with baked goods, canned items and meats.

With the shorter schedule, the half-day Saturday that summer offered on Main Street shrinks to a two-hour stop. Whatever comes after it on November 7 is happening a few blocks away.

November 7 runs across both parks

Suwanee has two downtown parks. Town Center Park sits at Buford Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park is at 421 Main Street. Here is how the first winter weekend is spread between them:

  1. Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m.: The first Winter Farmers Market, at Town Center on Main.
  2. Saturday, noon: Suwanee Wine Fest gates open for VIP ticket holders at Town Center Park.
  3. Saturday, 1 p.m.: General Admission gates open. The festival runs until 4:30 p.m.
  4. Saturday, 5 p.m.: The food trucks at Suwanee Circle open for the evening. On weekends the hours are 5 to 10 p.m.
  5. Sunday, 8 a.m.: Car registration opens for the Suwanee Classic Car Show.
  6. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The car show runs at Town Center on Main & DeLay Nature Park.
  7. Sunday, 1 to 1:30 p.m.: The Veterans Memorial Celebration at the Greater Good Veterans Memorial in Town Center on Main.

Saturday is the day both parks are busy, so it takes the most planning.

What Wine Fest asks of a Saturday

The festival is put on by the organizers of Suwanee American Craft Beer Fest. Wine experts from TopShelf Beverage choose more than 150 wines from around the world, and a Georgia winery section has local wineries pouring their own. The BigTickets listing says those Georgia wines are also for sale. It names Annandale Village, a nonprofit that serves adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries, as the benefiting charity.

Ticket details as listed in mid-October:

  • General Admission: $65 early-bird, $70 for the "last chance" tier that went on sale September 22, and $75 at the gate. BigTickets shows the $70 ticket at $75.57 with fees.
  • VIP: $150 and already sold out. VIP includes the hour of early entry, a private tasting and dining tent with higher-end wines, wine education, a catered meal, and a T-shirt, glass and goody bag.
  • Designated Driver: $25, or $27.98 with fees.

General Admission covers unlimited wine and craft beer samples, complimentary food samples, live entertainment, and food for purchase. The festival site also mentions ready-to-drink cocktails, seltzers and beer for guests who don't drink wine.

A few rules shape the day. The festival is 21 and older only, and everyone needs a valid photo ID. Strollers and pets are not allowed. The festival's FAQ lists parking at Town Center Park and on Main Street and says no shuttles are currently scheduled. Main Street parking is also the parking for the winter market that morning. A family that shops the market and then splits up for the afternoon will be working around both events at once.

Sunday belongs to Main Street

On Sunday, everything happens at Town Center on Main. The Suwanee Classic Car Show is free to attend. Up to 180 sports and classic cars can register, at $35 in advance or $40 on the day, and the city recommends preregistering. Expect muscle cars, street rods, exotics and imports, plus live music, food and drinks, family activities, and vendors selling racing gear.

The show is a fundraiser for HappyFeat, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs inclusive community and life-enrichment programs for people with special needs. The Eventeny listing also includes bikes, a HappyFeat performance and special visitors.

At 1 p.m., while the show is still on, the Suwanee Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosts a half-hour Veterans Memorial Celebration at the Greater Good Veterans Memorial. The car show's own schedule also lists a veterans ceremony at 1 p.m. Greater Good is a 20-foot sculpture whose six arcs stand for the six branches of the U.S. military. Plaques honoring veterans are installed around it. Main Street has no market on Sunday, so the memorial is the stop that gives the day its focus three days before Veterans Day.

The off-weeks already have something in them

Suwanee's calendar for the rest of the fall shows that the Saturdays without a market are already booked. Here is how the city's listings line up:

  • November 7: Winter Farmers Market, 9 to 11 a.m., and Wine Fest from noon.
  • November 14: No market. The Art on the Run: Turkey Trot 5K, part of the Suwanee Running Series, and an Electronics Recycling Event both run 9 a.m. to noon.
  • November 21: Winter Farmers Market, 9 to 11 a.m.
  • December 5: Winter Farmers Market and the HappyFeat Run, Run Rudolph 5K, both 9 to 11 a.m.

On November 14, an organized race and a recycling drop-off take the slot the market would have filled in summer. Taking the electronics pile out of the garage that morning is a different errand from picking up greens and a loaf of bread, but it falls in the same window.

Evenings work the same way all winter. Suwanee Circle, the food-truck park at Town Center on Main that held its grand opening in late March, according to Suwanee Magazine, keeps its regular hours whether or not a festival is running. Those hours are Wednesday through Friday, 6 to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 5 to 10 p.m., with rotating trucks, outdoor seating, drinks and occasional live acoustic music. Those hours hold on market weeks and off-weeks alike.

Jolly Holly shrinks, and the Saturday after it fills up

December follows the same pattern. Last year the city's holiday event became Jolly Holly Days, a two-day event on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6, 2025. The Saturday half had more than 80 artisan vendors, a Holiday Pet Parade at 11:30 a.m., food trucks and live performances in Town Center Park.

The 2026 listing is a single Friday evening. Jolly Holly Day, co-hosted by the Suwanee Arts Center, is set for December 4, 6 to 9 p.m., in Town Center Park. Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m., and the tree lighting is at 8 p.m., after a performance by All Stars Performing Arts Academy. The event's Eventeny page lists the end time as 9:30 p.m. instead, so check the city listing closer to the date.

The Saturday after the 2026 tree lighting, December 5, has no artisan market or pet parade on the city calendar. That morning has the Run, Run Rudolph 5K and the third Winter Farmers Market, both from 9 to 11 a.m. The city's holiday weekend now matches the rest of the winter, with a two-hour market sharing the morning with a scheduled event.
